Lori Lesante - President/CEO
Lori Lesante received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work in 1997 from Misericordia University.
For 2 years, Lori interned at Catholic Social Services in Wilkes Barre under the direction of Ron Evans.
While in college she also volunteered with the Big Brother/Big Sister Program.
Lori graduated from Misericordia University in May of 1997 and was chosen to be the Director of Services for the Hazleton Blind Association in June of 1997.
In 2000, Mrs. Lesante became the President/CEO.
In 2004, she created a camp for blind and vision-impaired youth, ages 8 to 18, called "Camp Sight."
The program has been accredited by NAC and has grown to include several counties and partnerships.
In the summer of 2014, Lori began a new summer day camp for blind and vision-impaired youth, ages 5 to 8, called "Camp Sight Jr."
In 2014, she started a low vision clinic to help those who are in need of low vision evaluations.
Lori is very proud to be a board member of Pennsylvania Association for the Blind.
She is proud to be the secretary of the Advisory Committee for the Blind of Pennsylvania appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.
She received a PEARL Award for her excellence in social work and she was a 2002 graduate of Leadership Hazleton.
Lori enjoys being able to help others, whether it is teaching a child, helping an adult, or caring for an animal, Mrs. Lesante feels very rewarded in making even the smallest difference in another’s life. Every day is a new learning experience. Lori hopes to inspire and teach the individuals she serves, as much as they inspire and teach her every day.
Mrs. Lesante has a very supportive husband and a beautiful daughter, whom both share the joy of helping others.
